Aunt Becky
Felicity Huffman "going away" pretty much has been handled through social media and morning show pop culture segments. If Lori Loughlin goes to jail even for a few nights, it's going to be way bigger just because more people know who she is, "Full House" was a big show and "Aunt Becky is going to jail" just sounds weirder. So, I'd be ready.
What if you did a version of Felon At The Table (which listener had the biggest felon at their Thanksgiving dinner) and have listeners share pics/stories of their aunts who have done time.
KOB-FM actually gave away a trip to Paris when Paris Hilton was in jail. What if you staged a video, like the crying Britney fan of someone just losing their mind and crying "Free Lori", stick it on youtube and see if it gets some traction.
Quite a few stations did Lindsay Lohan prison diaries. Boom. There ya go. This was done by Alice in SFO. https://soundcloud.com/cprpromo/lohan-diary-day-2mp3
The Best Seat In Town
I'm not sure if it's coincidental but suddenly last week "great public toilets" was a thing on a ton of stations this past week, and JACK in Vancouver is in the middle of their search for the best public restroom in the market. Aren't you glad that you didn't listen to your dad and become a doctor or something? This is what makes Radio awesome. https://www.jack969.com/2019/10/11/vancouvers-best-patron-bathrooms/
I'll Keep An Eye Out For You
When the Super Bowl was in Miami in 1999, Power 96 snagged a pair of tickets for contesting. I suggested that they have people like them on Facebook to win but no one there had heard of Facebook so instead they had a literal freak show as people did just insane stuff to win them. One guy covered himself in honey and then grain and had chickens peck him clean. One of the acts actually trigged my gag reflex, and that says a lot.
The Morning Bull at 97 Rock in Buffalo does Tradeo for tickets. You give us something cool and we'll unique and we'll reciprocate. And on Tuesday a guy gave them his glass eye for Jeff Dunham tickets. http://www.97rock.com/2019/10/03/video-randy-trades-his-glass-eye-for-jeff-dunham-tickets/
Artists At The Arch
Just about every market has something that is cool and iconic. In St. Louis, it's The Arch, pr: "Ark" if you eat at MacDowells. So Y-98 has kicked off a series of artist interviews at the Arch, starting with Juda and The Lion. https://www.facebook.com/Y98STL/videos/2256284251161083/
