“Virtual”
This is a WHOLE new arena for us to jump in and exploit. One of the stations is working to put together a virtual poker tourney with a casino and the sponsor and “enabler”. One of the Rhythm stations is working labels to see if they can get artists who are scattered all over to come together for a show on the station site.
What would be specific to your market? Fish fries? Garage sales? Boom. Do a virtual one and engage everyone to share theirs in real time.
I don’t see parents being really happy about having their toddlers pushing and mingling with a thousand other toddlers, so I’m going out on a limb and predict that Easter Egg Hunts are going to be banned. Highlights Magazine was the doctor’s office time killer and they always had at least one “find the hidden object” feature. So hide ten eggs of your site and have an entry from to fill in, ie: “In Dave’s hair”, “On Shakira’s shoulder from that archived photo from 2009”, etc. Sit with your kids, scroll through all the pages, write them in, hit submit and win a kid’s or family prize.
On-Hold
That’s a big term right now. If you haven’t done the “On Hold Game” it’s simple. You take a caller, you give them a phrase like “K-Paige plays all of my lite favorites of the 80’s 90’s and today, without the rap!” and put them on-hold. They basically sit there and repeat it over and over and over while you occasionally check in on them between songs. After 30 minutes or so you stop them and award them a prize.
Weddings are on-hold. Also events like proms and grad parties and quinceaneras. Kind of like the kid who gets banned from prom because of her hair, there’s going to be ONE of these local stories that is going to jump out and give you the chance to help save their event or moment. In a safe and responsible way.
Home School Report
This is fantastic. From Stingray in St. Johns where they’re providing a resource of things to do to educate, entertain and keep-occupied your kids who are stuck at home because of school closings https://krockrocks.com/syn/900/64003/home-school-report/
