College Flashbacks
When I was broke and going to the University of Minnesota and living off-campus, I once made a banana omelet. Because that was about all I had in the cupboards. And I hate, loathe eggs.
“Dave Tappan’s Quarantine Cuisine Competition” begins this morning in Redding and you can see it at Red1031.com The recipe ingredients must include (but not limited to) Beer, Peanut Butter, and Flour. $103 for the winning recipe, as voted by listeners. And when you vote, you qualify for a case of toilet paper and case of Corona.
Hometown Heroes
The Bull in Seattle is honoring the people in that community that are going the extra mile and helping out in a thousand different ways during the crisis. https://989bull.com/contest/nominate-a-community-hero-to-win-250-from-bickford-ford/
Mug Shots
Max at The Bus in Des Moines is throwing some love to the at-home-at-work nesters by posing every day with one of the station mugs. You need to replicate the photo and his “mood” for the day and share to win one of these prized items of swag.
Closet Crashing
“Purging” seems to be a thing. My non-radio friends are basically all having “It’s time to clean out the house and get rid of all this stuff we don’t need since we have all this time” projects dumped on them by their spouses. Elizabethany at Hot in DC is a shopaholic and is having the audience pick out what stuff she needs to get rid of and donate.
One of the other hosts is going to do a gallery of what she wore that day and post a new photo. And it will just be the same sweats and grungy OSU sweatshirt every day.
What if you married the two ideas and had the audience pick a DJ’s clothes for the next work day based on a video tour of their closet?
