“Pass The Soap”
This is REALLY cool. From BOB-FM in Fargo where they got clients, NDSU coaches, talent and local celebs to join in on a handwashing video.
And their sister station channeled Patches O’Houlihan to stress social distancing.
Today’s “This Is Freaking Brilliant” Idea
Energy 95.3 in Bakersfield throws a bone, a great big bone of recognition to their local Class of 2020. They have a list of all the schools for parents to post kudos and accolades about their kids. This one is beginning to get “populated” with submissions.
For Your Sports Stations
The Bakersfield promotion could TOTALLY be done with local kids whose Senior year sport got cancelled.
The Quarantine 15
One of my dress shirts almost doesn’t button as of yesterday.
Brent Shelton with Stingray in Edmonton was talking about doing a recipe book of listener-submitted concoctions for when this is all over. That’s a really cool idea. Something to hand down over the years to your kids and grandkids of the crap we made up while slowly going batty on lock-down.
I was listening to a station a few months ago talk about “great restaurants” that are no longer in the Twin Cities. This thing went sideways for an hour as the hosts tried to wrestle back control of the show. I pulled over to tweet about The Brothers at Southdale and their Italian Burgers. (An open-faced burger with spaghetti sauce on it. Holy…..cow. The greatest thing ever)
There’s a woman who is killing time on Facebook by posting all of these old recipes for Minneapolis/St. Paul restaurants. If you’ve been doing Quarantine Cuisine, maybe this is a hook. If you can get your hands on the recipes.
Zoo School
Jay Kruz at the Future Enterprisers Runner Up winning Mix in Cincy tips us to their local zoo which is doing a 3 pm Facebook Live to show off their animals.
You’ve got a lot of parents who are trying to keep the kids busy AND provide them with some form of curriculum. What if you do a Zoo’med class every day that will be fun but also maybe teach the kids something?
Mom Prom
This is going to be the weirdest Mothers Day ever since we might not be encouraged to do a lot of the stuff that we normally do. So it wouldn’t be entirely daft™ to come up with something and try to sell it, like, now.
There’s a Virtual Prom about to pop somewhere. What if you did it but for women with young kids at home? On May 10 you have an appt time of 2 or 3 appropriate songs for moms and their l kids to have moment to while sharing it on Facebook.
