What’s Old Is New
With the Iraq wars in 1990 and 2002, one of the things that industrious stations did was to solicit letters from kids to send to the deployed troops. Plus just tons of cookies and Koolaid mix. We can’t do the food but there are a LOT of elderly who would love to get a letter right now. So Maney at Kiss in Charlotte has started a campaign to make this happen.
“Live” Music
People who love to go and see artists are kind of jonesing for some live music. ‘MGK is going to give them that opp this weekend when they dust off hours and hours of love tracks from the vinyl era.

Philly MGK comes aliveThe Class Of 2020
This kind of started with the concept of trying to throw some spotlight on Valedictorians whose accomplishments were going to kind of get lost in the COVID-19 lockdown. And a few stations are still going to do variations of that. Which is great
Others have started to broaden it out so that the all the grads will get some attention. Energy in Bakersfield has done a great job with that. One of the stations is going to have the voice of their NBA team introduce each students profile.
KyXy in San Diego is soliciting messages and pics and will be reading them at appt times, culminating with a virtual graduation on May 29th on their Facebook page. https://kyxy.radio.com/blogs/kyxy/kyxys-class-of-2020
103.7 The Q in Birmingham has launched their version of it. https://1037theq.iheart.com/contests/class-of-2020-graduation-celebration-813624/
There’s also the trend of posting your grad photo to show support for the current class. God bless the Silly Folks at myTalk 107.1 for adding in 90’s era TV show music.
Doorstep Drop Off
This is a great name for the food delivery contest that 98.9 Magic-FM is doing in Colorado Springs. Magic Doorstep Drop Off".
