Leon Day
Hubbard in Seattle and Entercom in St. Louis both played on the simple concept that when people are in fear, crisis and stress, giving them something that reminds them of better times is a bandage. Like by playing Christmas music, which WARM and KEZK did in March.
“Christmas In July” has been done by many stations when the temps start to reach Hiroshima like levels: just a day of Christmas music. And since “Leon” is “Noel” spelled backwards, then maybe June 25th, the halfway point to Christmas might be a chance for some random acts of stupidity.
And Yet Another Great Christmas Promotion
I’ve always loved swapping out radio promotions that are allegedly specific to certain Hallmark Holidays. Which is what Mojo is doing and doing his very successful Breaking And Entering promotion to help out people who are out of work.
Happy Half New Year
Seemingly every third post on social media is some meme about how horrible 2020 has been. And none of them are wrong.
On June 30th half the year will be over.
What if you did a big countdown to 12 noon and reboot the year. Maybe do 60 seconds of audio stunting and then come out with the second half of 2020 which honestly, if we survive the asteroid tomorrow, has GOT to be better than the first half. Having one of the talent in an oversized diaper as Baby Half New Year is assumed.
Bar-age
Again, people are going to be sticking close to their homes and may violate social distancing a little with having some drinks with friends.
Having a bar in your garage is something that is kind of specific to Minnesota and other parts of the country. In Arizona or California? Maybe it’s at your pool. Here, it’s in the garage.
One of the Results stations has a client that makes ridiculously cool signs for people for things like their home, business, cabin, whatever. If you could find someone like that, a carpenter, someone who does lights and obviously a liquor distributor, it would be cool to do a version of Man Cave with that theme. Flipping some dudes garage and turning it into lounge.
