…there was “Office Hottie” as done by Hot in Ottawa and later KLUC in Las Vegas. More or less an on-line beauty pageant that awarded the workplace with the most attractive employee. And it was good.

…And That Begat…

The Hottys as done by Hot 99.5 in DC which is a Best Of promotion looking for the tops in various categories. Every market has a “free paper” like City Pages here in the Twin Cities. And every year these publications do a Best Of issue. They wouldn’t do these every year if they weren’t popular.

A Bidet A Day

There are some days that I just wake up glad to be alive, immature and working in Radio. The TP shortage demonstrated our great nations vulnerability to these kinds of shortages and 96.1 NOW-FM in San Antonio is making sure that listeners never ever have to worry about how they roll again.

Papamojis

Fathers Day is hurtling towards us and disease, pestilence and riots may have caused some of us to lose track of time. It’s understandable. This is simple and back for year #3 at 93Q in Syracuse.

I remember in about 2008 a guy at the station in Phoenix, when the subject of an augmentation giveaway came up went off on this profane and expletive riddled rant about “Our listeners aren’t (bleeping) (socio-economic housing on wheels) (profession where you get dollar bills for removing clothing)!!!” The Sales Manager looked at him and said “My wife had some work done over the holidays.” That shut down the room. This isn’t 1966. This is what some people choose to do if they can afford it.

And if they can’t, they try to win one of the promotions that WiLD in Tampa does at least twice a year with a valued client. And it’s bounced back in June 2020.

Backyard Parties

Keeping with the theme that people are going to be doing smaller gatherings this summer and closer to home, kudos and even an accolade to KJ-103 in Oklahoma City where they bundled several clients into a promotion that awards a backyard party.
