Selling Station Masks
With masks sticking around, and everyone needing one, what you stick on your face has evolved into being a fashion statement. A place where you can express myself. Mine is from Q-98 in Fayetteville and the good people of Scandia are mighty impressed. BEN in Philly has a whole line of ware at 95.7 BEN FM store.
Pick A Number
Match Game roared back in 2019 and, as it has always, it killed. Power 96.1 in Atlanta is doing it with a prize board.
Most of our contests work like this:
- Call/text and you win this.
- You get the winner. You congratulate them.
- And it’s so exciting that 4% of people will play.
With this there’s a TBD element that might actually be compelling to people in their cars.
Starter Packs
It’s not “Karen” but it’s a little bit of a thing. And things are good.
So, as we head towards Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, you could bundle some stuff into prizes for a gallery contest. Which you would then want to sell.
But it needs a vibe. It can’t just be “A Halloween Starter Pack”. Snore. It needs to be something “Our Kids Are Too Old To Go Trick Or Treating” Starter Pack. A frozen pizza, a box of wine, a couple of full-sized candy bars and 5 of the $1.99 DVD’s from the bin at Walgreens.
Or the “I Haven’t Talked To My Family Since Last Thanksgiving’s ‘Incident’” Starter Pack. An Arby’s turkey sandwich, a foam finger for your local NFL team, some gamer cartridges from a client and some dog treats so your pet will join you on the couch.
Or the “Our Kid Is Now Asking About Santa” Starter Pack. A bag of leftover Halloween candy, a bunch of holiday books from a garage sale, a new ceiling light projection thing to distract them and $20 for a babysitter so you can get out for a couple of hours.
And of course, the “Let’s Get 2020 The (Deleted) Over” starter pack. A gym membership. Toilet paper. A shovel for burying anything and everything that will remind you of this year. And some sage for burning.
Hang Outs
KSON in San Diego and 93.1 The Wolf in Greensboro have had very successful campaigns of going out and doing tours of the market with morning show broadcasts that hit all around the surveyed area ad might get missed. In Greensboro they’re called Home Town Hangouts. Obviously, right now they’re on-hold.
Ted & Amy at 93Q in Syracuse have a ridonculous™ annual event that’s a Pajama Party. So big they now sell out two nights at a hotel. Obviously….not happening at this moment.
What if you used the Greensboro name and the Syracuse concept and do an all night hangout with listeners? It’s got to be more than just a Facebook Live of a DJ. You need drinking making lessons. A psychic (psychics KILL). Music. Food prep. A Pajama Contest as a opposed to a costume contest. But all safely done from the confines of a hundred homes.
