Creepy Dolls

When I was 5 or 6 my parents and older brothers left me with a brick of cheese and some Raisenettes and went to Mexico. They brought some antique Mexican doll that pretty much tied together every element related with Childhood Terror. I literally didn’t go downstairs to the basement for 13 years. A friend from school actually has a very expensive antique doll that her Grandma had given her. If Jane had been my sister, some night, I would have taken it and buried it in the woods.

So….as you start prepping for late October social media and digital content, take a look at this annual contest that is done by a county museum in Minnesota.

In terms of topics? A few stations have done “My child has an imaginary friend and it scares the CRAP out of me” on the morning shows. So, do it. And then follow up with haunted dolls.

Fall Colors & Quick Trips

Something that was asked during the webinar yesterday is “What promotions do not seem to work during COVID?” Well, trips have had to be retooled. There aren’t a ton of people wanting to get on a plane right now, but clusters like Hubbard in West Palm have discovered that things like weekends in Key West, that they can drive to, are well-received.

One of the iHeart stations is going to be giving away $50 giftcards for gas so that people can drive two hours and visit a historical site and take in the Fall colors. Weekend roadtrips have been big ever since the March lockdown as families bond and do quick safe trips to explore the region.

The Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, for Easter, will do an Easter Egg Hunt on arena’s website. Troll, spot, click, enter, hopefully win some tickets packages.

Honestly? Gas a deli or other takeout food for the trip could be done with colored leaves placed around your site.
