“V” For “Vaccinated”
Here is what we know or can assume.
In late December the first vaccines will go out for (in the US) 20 million people who are most at risk, health care workers and two other groups. It looks like, optimistically, in the US we could see it available for distribution to the populace as early as late January or February.
One of the things we know is that people WILL most assuredly share some kind of “I got the shot” post to social media or change their profile pic. They do it with voting and flu shots, so they definitely will with this.
So, what if you initiate a trend and have listeners flash the V sign when they’ve gotten their vaccine?
Planning ahead and looking for clients to bring in on it, you could also do what Alpha in Portland did with COVID Testing: share your photo that you got tested and possibly win cash.
Hermy The Elf
One of the stations has braces and dental for giveaway before the end of the year because the owner wants to the money and just wants to get this on the air.
These are a great prize and I’ve seen stations that have gotten a great response with having listeners submit photos of their teeth. If you have not experienced it, one of the Promotion Directors put it best: “I was off solid food for a week.”
The PD, who should know, says that his listeners just won’t do that. “It’s really hard to get them to do anything more strenuous than calling or entering on a form.”
So…they’re going to do a simple entry process and dress it up with Hermy, the wannabe dentist from “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer”, who has spent lockdown at the North Pole with on-line classes through Southern New Hampshire University, he got some pliers and wire as a grad present, “I want to make YOU my first patient…”
So…if you have a dental client…there ya go.
Free The PS3
One of the stations had a PS3 drop in their lap and are looking for something seasonal and fun to give it away.
This was perhaps the best variation of “give us stuff or something is going to occur.” In this instance, the station set a toy goal and 92 hours to hit it or they were literally going to blow up a PS3. And they would
have. I actually think they wanted to, but alas, it was saved and awarded to someone who donated a toy or registered for free.
