Christmas Wish
It’s launched at KS95 in the Twin Cities where they are WISELY putting the onus on the listeners to alert the station to people who need a wish granted. If you just have people sign themselves up, it can be a nightmare.
US Army
One of the Cumulus stations has an annual based around an event where they help the Army with recruiting. Obviously there’s a virtual event that would probably satisfy the client.
Energy in Bakersfield was the first to have parents and friends shine a light on 12th graders last Spring. So, sponsoring a scholastic spotlight would be something else for them.
Fitness and booze are two things that people will not part with during a pandemic. One of my friends does an 8 am cardio bootcamp every day from her home and she packs the digital joint. What if you had someone from the Army host one of these high-intensity workouts. You’re not going to necessarily have teens doing it, but their moms would be there for the message.
Your Obligatory December Gallery Contest
I was discussing 2020 with one of the SVPs and he commented that everything in 2020 seems to have been done more enthusiastically. Like at Halloween. People still dressed up. They just needed Radio to give them a place to show off their creations.
Rogers in Vancouver is bringing back their annual Christmas Lights Spotter promotion: tip the station to your or someone else’s amazing lights and it will go on a map. NEWS 1130’s 2020 Christmas Lights and Virtual Events Spotter (citynews1130.com)
KRTR 96 in Honolulu is doing a “decorate your car and join our parade past all the best lights around the market.” Make-A-Wish Jingle Rock Ride | Krater96
My little community is having their first-ever holiday lights contest.
So that might be your play. We know in 2020 that gallery contests seem to work really well, you can sell them and it doesn’t require going out and doing something.

God Bless The Silly People
From Scott Sands at iHeart in Toledo:
Last week, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine implemented a mandatory “curfew” for the state from 10pm to 5am for 21 days.
Over the weekend, these images began to mysteriously appear around town.
Today, I debuted this new song on my show. Toledo WSPD SONG 10 TO 5 THANKSGIVING by cprpromo (soundcloud.com)
