Thank you to Paul McCoy with Hot in Virginia Beach for sticking this back on our radar. While it represents some kind of a number that I learned about in 8th grade and promptly forgot, it’s become a Radio thing to award pizzas all day.

Pizza is one of those foods, kind of like Chinese, where when you’re at the end of the day and fried (pun intentional) and are too tired to cook, you call and order.

Kiss on Grand Cayman did it as Mother’s Little Helper. Long day. Still at work. Heading home. Kids are there. There’s nothing in the frig…the station would take a tale of woe at 5:15, place the order for the caller and all she (or he) needed to do was swing by and pick it up.

Since man first crawled from the primordial ooze, put on headphones and backsold a Taylor Swift song, guessing the number of things in a jar has been a hit.

NOW in SFO did a year of these contests and mixed it up every time. For a concert trip that was in conjunction with Cinco De Mayo, they filled a fish bowl with Red Hot candies.
