Mothers Day In A Box

One of the grocery store chains here, when the State Fair cancelled and everyone was jonesing for “fair food”, did boxes of iconic fair food and sold a TON.

Mix in Cincy which, even on a bad day, is still in the upper 2% of cool stations, did New Years Eve in a box as a giveaway: win everything that you would need for New Years Eve in COVID.

I’ve always liked creative bundling so Mix is back with Valentines In A Box

Next up? St. Patrick’s Day, followed by Easter and of course a very boxable Hallmark Holiday: Mothers Day. Jewelry. Flowers. A fully-prepared pick-up meal. Bath bombs. Cleaning. All in a box.

On-site registration is really hit or miss. A box on a table. THAT is show business.

• The station has put six or seven items in a box
• The box is hung from a crane with a giant painted logo and a “?” on it. THAT will get people’s attention. In Birmingham, it was at eye level with an elevated freeway. At Magic in Colorado Springs it was at street side at a mall. In Kingston, Ontario it was on top of a very tall scaffold. In Panama City, it was hung in the parking lot of a car dealer at the busiest intersection in town.

A Christmas Box

KSFM did an insured promotion called The $102,000 Christmas Present. In the center court of a mall there was a pile of wrapped Christmas gifts that were stanchioned off. Every box had a prize or product or service in it.

One winner got to step up and pick a box from the pile. One of the boxes had a prize certificate for $102,000. Whatever you picked you won.
