When Crisco with the KS95 Morning Show was with another station in the market, for Halloween they rolled pumpkins down the ski jump at Bush Lake and he had to try and catch them. It was very Dave Letterman-ish.

Great promotions or bits are in the moment. They’re reacting to something that was said or done and you have sometimes just hours to pull it off. In the 2012 debate Mitt Romney said that he’d hate to, but that he would defund PBS and fire Big Bird.

Somehow in less than 10 hours, the Promotion Director at Entercom in Boston got 8 Big Bird costumes and in AM Drive they had interns dressed up at intersections holding signs that said “AMP Radio would never fire me.”

So on Friday morning, Spike from the Mojo show at Channel 95.5 in Detroit, attempted to catch donuts tossed from a helicopter, in his mouth.
