9/11 Flyovers

This might not be something that is available in every market in terms of a group that does this stuff. My wife is in charge of our town’s late Summer festival and this year it’s on September 11th. There are a lot of veterans in this town so I tipped her to some local enthusiasts with aircraft who do flyovers for these kinds of things.

For about $1500 they’ll fly a helicopter over with a smoke trailer, followed by four aircraft that will then return, missing one.

As everyone is looking for ways to honor September 11th’s 20th anniversary, it could be something for your agenda.

Dinner ‘N A Movie

Power 96 in Miami has created half the contest methodologies in Radio. If you can think of it, they’ve done it.

Arguably one of the BIGGEST contests was the simplest: Dinner & A Movie. You won a $25 gift card to a restaurant (They rotated them every day. No fastfood.) and two tickets to a movie. Boom. Phonal implosion. Because who wouldn’t want to get a free dinner and see a movie.

This came up because Steve Richards with LM Communications in Lexington is teaming up blood bank for a drive, and they’re offering…dinner and a movie. We wouldn’t bring pizza to EVERY freaking event is people didn’t like free food.
