The Healing Field
From a Cumulus station to-remain-nameless where they’ll be using hand-held sized flags like the Arizona Cardinals did for COVID victims and not the tall mast-type that Pepperdine University does every September 11th.
“We have our field and 2,977 flags. I'm not thrilled about the location but it's tough to find grass here in (market). It's close to a fire station and It will be up for a few days. We're hoping to trick "a local TV station" into taking some video”
Tap That Track
For a station that historically does exemplary stuff, this is pretty cool.
For Maroon 5 tickets, Q-102 in Cincinnati is doing Tap The Track. When you hear Maroon 5, immediately go to the Q-102 mobile app and “tap the track” in the “Now Playing” feature. That gets you an entry into a draw for tickets. Enter as often as you hear a song by the artist and you can get to the track before it disappears.
Going Halvesies
Approximately 800 years ago a station I worked at with Dan Seeman did a promotion with one person who’d entered at a client, got a half court soccer kick to try and get it through a small opening, to win $99,500 and then split the money with the Courage Center.
He dinged it and he got $995 and so did the Courage Center. (Editorial comment: the hair on the guy on the right? He was an Italian player. Or just ahead of his time)
KRBE in Houston is doing that with a local cash contest: win $1000 and donate $500 to your favorite charity. That’s outstanding. H Town Wins | 104.1 – KRBE | KRBE-FM
