#FailedElfNames
One of the stations has TSO tickets and a syndicated morning show so they’re probably going to be stuck with Text-To-Win. Everything between Thanksgiving and December 25th really needs to be examined to see if you can spin some sense of the holiday out of it. If you’re going to do texts, one could play off the Twitter trends of which there are at least three versions of “fail” every day. Text a Failed Elf Name to 86609 and win Jingle Bash Ball Fest Palooza tickets. “This hours #FEN is ‘Weird Doug From IT’.”
Speaking Of TSO
If one of the 18 touring versions of this comes through your market, there are a few things that could be done with them:
- “TSO Or TSA”. Say a term and the caller has to ID it. “Cavity search”? TSA. “Cello”? TSO.
- Trans Iowa Orchestra. Done by Power 96 in Miami where they found a cooperative truckstop owner in Atlantic, Iowa who was willing to answer the phone and try to ID song hooks. If he ID’ed “My Neck, My Back”, the caller on hold won.
- Elementary School Orchestra. Find any of the “parent standing up with a video camera and shooting their kid’s Christmas pageant” clips on youtube. Play the song. ID it and win.
The Secret Sounds Of The Season
One of the Country stations I “do” reached out a few minutes ago; they have $1000 from a jeweler to give away TOMORROW. So, they’re going to do The Secret Sounds Of The Season. Three “sounds” from Christmas toys, ID, and win. Like the buzzer from “Operation” and the spinning thing from “The Game Of Life”.
The French Kiss-Off
I love kissing marathons because, to be honest, I’m into that stuff. But it’s also just a great methodology that seems to get TV.
So….one of the stations has a trip to see a concert in Montreal for Valentines. Tongue? Valentines? Quebec? Voile’: the French Kiss Off. First done by KUBE in Seattle for a prize that escapes me.
