Santa: Behind The Beard

I was discussing doing a poll of “worst/dirtiest holiday seasonal jobs” with one of the morning shows and really, being a mall Santa would have it’s moments. The Promotion Director from KDWB is now Marketing Director at Mall Of America (after gigs as a roadie for John Legend and Stone Temple Pilots) and told me that Santa, the elves and other members of that team have experienced some unimaginable stuff. My father in law was a mall Santa and he said, “You’re not officially Santa until you’ve been pee’d on.”

I love hiding or having things lost or stolen. Arguably the biggest Radio contest in North Carolina history was 102 Jamz losing the 1 and starting a hunt to recover it. From 300 To 9065 Turkeys

Yesterday was John DeBella’s 39th annual turkey drop. The first year, he got 300 turkeys. In 2021? 9065. “Zoinks” is implied.

A lot of what we do lacks a visual. This morning talent pushed a shopping cart 32 miles between two communities in Pennsylvania and collected enough food to feed 45,000 people. THAT…is brilliant.

The 12 Plays Of Christmas

One of the big Country (but not Big Country) stations has an awesome GM who is going to go out and buy a bunch of the “12 best toys” for Christmas 2021. They want both digital and an on-air component.
