Let’s start the New Year with some happy news.
The Stuff That Sirius Can’t Do
I was on a call with a Market Manager last Tuesday talking about how, in ten years, no will remember the time you gave away $1000 8 X a day. In fact, they won’t remember it next week. But they will always remember the time that stations did something big and good.
With the Kentucky tornados there was an opportunity for stations to do that. Alpha in Louisville stepped up, found a niche and collected petfood and supplies for the disaster region. Niches are good. Hubbard in the Twin Cities? Diapers after disasters.
Ben Davis got this from the client they worked with.
And this is the reason we got into Radio. To do good. Plus other stuff. But Good is Great
We were able to collect a total of $13,129.65 in cash donations. So with Feeders $10,000 match, we have $23,129.65.
The donations of supplies has been HUGE! So much that it will probably take until Thursday for it all to come back into our distribution center.
I am trying to setup a phone call with Humane Society of Marshall Country today or tomorrow.
Because of the overwhelming donation of supplies, I think our goal is to take the items down there next Wednesday, Dec. 29th. We will probably take the cash donations of $23,129.65 and donate it to several of the animal rescue groups and organizations. We’re hearing from a lot of them that they do not have the room right now to store a lot of food and supplies.
I should know more after my phone call with Marshall County.
Thank you for all the support. Never did I imagine we would have such an amazing response.
