DMV Makeovers

This came up as a possible solution to a client request for a promotion. A bad drivers license photo is ten years of future embarrassment.

So, if you had a cosmetology school as a client, what if for one day you went down, set up outside of the DMV and gave people quick spiff-ups. The old cat lady in Florida who manages the cliftonclient site for me had a photo in the mid-80’s where she looked like she fallen asleep with wet hair, leaning against a wall. And no, she had zero sense of humor about it.

Wed In A Week

Valentines 2022 looks strong. Some good stuff in the works and it looks like we’re going to have our first Radio Wedding in a couple of years.

“Married In A Week.” “Wed In A Week.” Basically the same thing: you pick a couple and in 7 days create their wedding. You get a ring. You get the clothes. You do her hair. You pick a cake. And then do the ceremony.

At the station that’s about to do it, they’re going to introduce a couple each morning the week before Valentines. Allow the audience to get to know them and their stories. On the 11th, after all five have been presented, their photos will be posted and for three days people can vote, with the winner being announced on the 14th.

THAT is when a backwards ticking clock will show up on the site and the following Monday, at a very nice upscale hotel, the ceremony will happen.

Tammy The Ticket Intern

First, a lesson learned from KDWB: it’s not a “prize closet”, it’s a “prize vault.” In the case of 102 Jamz in Orlando, deep deep below the station and protected by a security guard who’d been down there since LBJ had been Prez. He’d pop up in imaging and ask about color TV and whether people had really bought into it.

Characters are great. Kiss in Boise had Dready D, who was an intern who was the voice for their Summer Umbrella, SPF 1035. He had more social media followers than the morning show. KRBE in Houston had T. Spoon Pickens as the voice of their Crude Cash. And Kiss in Albany has Tammy The Ticket Intern. Why? Because they can develop her and have a story arch. And mostly because they can.
