Social Media
The east coast got clobbered over the weekend. The biggest January blizzard in Boston’s history and it was interesting to see stations/clusters where the local staff aren’t allowed access to their social media on weekends.
What do people do during blizzards? Sit on social media and hopefully listen to your station. Kennedy at Mix in Boston Posted a video of her dog playing in the snow and got many x’s the engagement of autoposts about BTS’s new bold fashion statements.

The Penny Pickup
I’ve mentioned this a few times. It was a Jeff Kapugi thing from Z in St. Louis when they needed to raise money and fast. So they got a pickup from a client. Lined the bed with plastic and drove it around so people could toss their spare change in it.
Pennies seemingly have no value and are a pain to deal with. So people have jars of them laying around. But…they add up. Which is how a Catholic school in Chicago collected 4 MILLION of them and were able to get a new roof.
In 2022 you can get hate mail for suggesting that the Big Mac is proof that God exists, or that Melissa Joan Hart is the lost and restless voice of a generation. So the convoy in Canada is possibly a hot potato. But, if you wait a week for people to get distracted by something else, then you have a fundraiser name.
Or, do it for food shelves as a canvoy. Similar to what KSFM did the Winnebago World Tour prior to Thanksgiving circa 2001. The morning show drove around the market, camped in grocery store parking lots and collected food.
Mug Madness
If you feel like you’re bracketed out, how about throwing a bone at the at-work listeners in March and have people share their coffee mugs? You can overthink prizing. Coffee joint giftcards would do it. And for a lot people, their mugs are personal of have some meaning. Or perhaps they just like to steal stuff. Facebook
