Share Your Salary
Occasionally you will see a morning show test a feature and it goes kablooey and becomes a fixture. And “Share Your Salary” with Rob & Joss at KyXy in San Diego IS that feature.
So, maybe for #TBT, one time, have listeners share their earliest paystub. Find the smallest one and buy them that much stuff at the Dollar Store. And yes…I was a baller.
Gift Cards
Arguably one of the best “support local businesses” campaigns that has been done since last March was Operation Gift Card, done by Beasley in Tampa. They had links to lots of local businesses on their site where you could go and purchase gift cards for future use, and help these businesses stay running.
People do love gift cards. BEN in Philly imaged a group contest as winning “1000 gift cards to (different business that they changed every day). One of the stations was working on a program with Applebees that the client LOVED. Basically the morning show would have their own “brand” Applebees giftcards. Cost was $30 with a $25 value. $5 was going to the show’s charity. But when you used the card, you got a $5 bounceback coupon from Applebees.
That would be cool. And you have 8 months until Gift Card Season to pull it off.
Brrr….
