Meeting Of The Men’s Emotional Support Group
There’s a bunch of guys in my town who go and have breakfast at the bar on Saturday mornings under the guise of the “a meeting of the Men’s Emotional Support Group.” One of the iHeart stations is going to do, basically, a Men’s Expo. Breweries, ATV’s motorcycles, boats, cigars, gambling, guns, grilling, home improvements and all that kind of stuff. They’re going to work “I need to attend a Saturday meeting of the Men’s Emotional Support Group into the imaging.
(Station’s) Potentially Normal Summer
This is about the time of year when you should start thinking about if you want an umbrella for the summer and what it should be. And I have a lot of alternatives to the (dial position) Days Of Summer, so hit me up.
As a Minnesota Lutheran we’re bred to be pessimists so I was definitely jinxing it when I suggested that some of the stations use “Best Summer Ever” last year. Whoops.
Jenn Dalen with Stingray may have stumbled on something with a social media post when she said “For the first time in three years we could have a potentially normal summer.”
That’s it. There’s your umbrella.
Gas Station Takeovers
The first one/s of ’22 are going to be hitting shortly with a station client paying for the pumping. A couple of reminders:
- Don’t say “We’re going to take over another station.” If you have a client with any intelligence, they’re going to scoop you on it.
- Don’t announce the location until you are there and ready to go.
- Have a big sign to stick on the back of the last car that says “Last Car” so that someone doesn’t sit in line for an hour just to have an intern walk up and say “I’m sorry, but we’re cutting off the line right here.”
- These will get press so play to the cameras. The camera angle, “the shot” is someone’s hand squeezing the pump handle. Logo the pumpers hand. Just in case you get a helicopter shot, stick a concert banner on the roof. And have someone like Gas Man who can run around and play to the cameras.
