Flags
This came up yesterday with a station. A lot of stations have the tear-drop shaped flags for at festivals and remotes. And that’s cool. But a flag like this would be great to have in your arsenal for parades, sporting events and of course, just sticking on the back of a pickup and driving around.
A Promotional Trifecta
JACK in Halifax is doing the $92,000 Music Box. There are 40 songs in the station music box. Call in and guess three of them (the list is on the site) and win $92,000. Do the math. It’s not easy. JACK 92.9 - playing what we want (jack929.com)
Progressive Spots
Obviously, life is too short to spend a lot of time referencing TV commercials but occasionally a campaign comes along that is very very parodyable.
Like the old Bud Light “Real Men Of Genius” radio spots that WIOG went and played with for Christmas back in the mid 00’s.

The Progressive “Unbecoming Your Parents” campaign is in that zone. So if you were a Top 40, you could flip it and have it be your listeners concerned that their parents are using terms like “no cap” and “yeet”. Robzilla at Audacy in San Diego peppers his conversations with those. It’s kind of disturbing.
Promposals
Proms appear to be coming back in some markets which is a nice sign.
There are a million prom promotions but when Angi Taylor was working in the Twin Cities, some guy who was a listener of the show got dumped the week before prom, so she went as his date. And he was the Star of his dance.
Doing it as “Win A Date With A DJ” has always just seemed weird and kind of egotistical. She simply saved his night. No contesting involved.
One thing that Radio has always been outstanding at is being the facilitator. We do have more contacts than the average person so, what if you helped some guy pull off a proposal with some fun and show business. And when Radio can create content that gets 6.2 million views, it will indeed be a happy day.
