Bundling Prizes

At Christmas it’s common to see stations bundle their prizes in stockings or “wrapped presents”. WROR in Boston did it as the $5000 Sleigh.

One of the stations has money and “stuff” from Sauze Agave Cocktails for giveaway the week of Cinco de Mayo. They’ll be presented as being in pinatas that are whacked open on the air during the 5 o’clock hour. One of the Prize Pinatas will have gift cards, concert tickets, JBL speakers and $500 cash. You don’t know what you win until it gets whacked open while you’re on with the DJ.

First Crack At Mothers Day

It, and proms and Cinco de Mayo and grads and summer are hurtling towards us. Jammin’ in Denver was first “on” Cinco last week. And Movin’ in Seattle is first with Mothers Day 2022. The prize? That’s a pretty ridiculous array of prize for the winning mom. If you lived in Seattle, this would be thoroughly enticing.

Free Tree Friday

In the Beginning, there was Free Gas Friday. And it was Good.

This is actually the second year that Mix in Cincinnati has honored Earth Day with tree giveaways. It’s something that McDonalds in the Twin Cities has been doing for 20 years. On Earth Day visit a McD’s and while supplies last, get a sapling in a bag.

For people who have homes? This is a GREAT prize and doesn’t just have to be for Earth Day. If you’ve got a nursery or landscaper that wants to play, there’s your contest.

Dorm Raiders

This has been a traditional promotion for CHR’s during finals week: you go out to dorms during finals week and drop off energy drinks and pizza and coffee and whatever else you can scrounge up. Kiss in Albany is doing it with Dunkin Donuts.
