Cumulus in Albuquerque has been outstanding at offering free Uber rides on holidays that are traditionally known for drinking. They’re bringing it back this coming weekend.

Halloween is on a Monday this year so your next good opportunity to do this would be the previous Saturday when a LOT of the parties and bar events are going to be happening.

Fashion Flashbacks

I did a Zoom yesterday with a station that has had a good track record of getting brackets sponsored. Next up is Back To School. Their audience of Women was in 10th grade generally in the years between 1992 and 1998. So they’re going to do a topic of what clothes were their favorite for heading back to school…and that they’re now horrified by…or would gladly wear.

Fun Finder

The Hots in Ottawa have had a summer character named Party Girl who was basically the funnest person in the market. We all know that person. She’s at all the parties, all the events, all the concerts. And she was the person who went and “covered” them for those stations.

At Hot in St. Johns, they’re doing Fun Finder: let the station know where you’re throwing a party and their street teamer Jenna will show up.

Win At The Pump

I’m not ever going to argue about having listeners call and win gas. They’re great winners to have on the air. One of the stations is going to do it with a caped character who will be buying gas at pumps for random people. The video pay off will be outstanding.

Q98 in Fayetteville is doing that with one of their clients sans cape.

Great contests have great theme songs or jingles. Like “Gas Man” done to the tune of “Bat Man” by The Bull in Seattle. “I like big tanks and I cannot lie” might actually happen somewhere.
