Last Meme Standing
We’re always looking for ways to engage people on social media. When Jeanne Ashley was at Star in KC she noticed that the corporate posts were getting zip. No likes. No comments. No shares. So she found a funny photo on line and posted it and had people do creative captions.
It blew up.
Ya think?
I believe that she spent her own money and bought some Starbucks giftcards for prizes.
This would be basically the same thing: post a topical or humorous image, have listeners add copy to it and post to your social media AND their own social media with a hashtag. Best (based on either likes or your own judgement), wins.
“Hocus Pocus 2”
It’s coming out on September 30th and unless there are really awful reviews out of the gate, this will be a very large film.
ANY tickets that you can get would be great for on-air. I lobbed out “Hocus Joke Us” last week: a caller has twenty seconds to make the morning show laugh, to win. I’d…do it recorded while music is on.
“Hocus Focus”. WPGC in DC did a Beer Goggles kind of thing. They took an image and made it exceptionally blurry. Four times a day they SLIGHTLY unblurred it. The first person to comment with “Michael Jordan in ‘Space Jam’” would win.
“Make The Switch, See A Witch.” If you were looking for an excuse to get people to call in and say “They’ve made the switch to (you)”, here ya go.
“Hocus Pocus: The Prequel”. Have listeners submit their childhood costume photos of being witches or ghosts.
From an OM in regards to a monthly “wine thing” with their female audience:
First one will be at the end of September and will be by invite only for Hocus Pocus 2 showing. It is crazy how massive Hocus Pocus 2 is for women. It’s like a super bowl. The one issue is licensing. In other words, if you are doing an open “public” showing like inviting listeners to join you at bar or commercial location…that becomes a licensing issue if the location hasn’t paid to show it publicly.
If you make it a private invite only to watch Hocus Pocus 2 with a JOCK…then it isn’t a licensing issue showing it. Or so I understand from the Disney label.
Paint It Forward
This is an amazing annual contest where one charity or non-profit wins a $10,000 paint job of their facility or offices. Paint It Forward | 93.3 The Q (933theq.com)
