State Lotteries
They’ve always been great clients for Radio and usually this time of year they roll out their seasonal tickets. A lot of snow and Santas and elves and trees. First, scratch off lottery tickets are great prizes. The pick-up ratio on them is insane, but you also don’t want to give out a prize cheaper than the cost of gas to come and pick them up. So twenty $1’s would be a hot prize. And putting up all of the brands of tickets on a match game would be great. Match two and win a few of them.
Tacos Tacos Tacos
Tacos are about as much a “food universal” as pizza is. In fact, even bigger:
- Americans taking tacos over coffee: Nearly 1 in 3 (29%) Americans surveyed said they would give up coffee for one year if it meant they could get free tacos for a year.
- Passing on popular pastimes: More than one third of Americans surveyed said they would give up sports (36%) and video games (34%) in order to receive free tacos for a year.
- Swapping social time for tacos: Nearly one in five Americans surveyed said they were willing to give up social media (19%) if it meant they could have free tacos for a year.
- Tacos takeover: When asked about the frequency of eating foods per month, almost half (48%) of Americans surveyed said they eat tacos at least once per month* - that's more than pizza (46%), burgers (46%), French fries (41%) or pasta (36%).
For Cinco de Mayo, Ortega did a national sweepstakes that awarded one winner with Tacos For A Year. Their math worked it to be $20 a week for 52 weeks, or $1040. Hmmm….it’s too bad no one is going to have 1st Q group contest that needs a theme….
One Mexican restaurant offered a similar prize to the customer who designed/created their next taco item on their menu.
One of the Audacy stations hit Gold with a bracket with a search for the best Mexican restaurant in town. Taco’s are very bracketable.
And of course there’s the old “food delivery to workplaces” which could be done as Taco Tuesdays.
A Station That Socks
A follow up from yesterday’s eblast about the Z-Rocks Socks at KOZE. Stockings have always been great receptacles for bundling gift cards and other clients swag and services during the holidays. From Lee McVey:
25 years and still going.
96 Socks. 96 winners.
The prize is worth only a certain amount… but the sport of getting one is where the excitement is.
We’re blessed to have hundreds of people show up at the sponsor parties where we wrap presents and hide Z-Rock Socks inside.
You’d love the dedication and energy from listeners.
It’s a way we can give back to them for being so loyal and awesome all year.
