Clifton was the King of Acronyms which is one of the reasons that PartyRadio in Phoenix launched as STEVE (songs that everyone voraciously enjoys) (the competition’s PD was Steve. He didn’t think this was funny), and WPGC did SPAM: Spectacular Prizes And More.

Kiss in Boise did SPF103.5 (Summer Prize Fun) as an umbrella and Q in Memphis did FML or Free Music Live! as an umbrella for ticket contesting.

myTalk 107.1 in the Twin Cities does WTF as “Where Talk Is Fun”

And Kiss in Dallas does it as “Win Thousands Free”.

And it could be done as Win Tickets Free.

Let’s Get Ready Tooooo….SLUMBER!

One of my self-imposed job descriptions as a Promotion Director was to “get the airstaff mingling with the audience.” Like ski busses.

93Q does by far the best example of that with Amy’s Slumber Party and it’s a huge NTR event for them. Women get rooms with their friends, they get matching sleep tees and late night pizza (brilliant) and there’s a full evening of dancing, games, music and pampering. Pi Day

It’s 3/14 and is a date that it’s traditional for stations to blow out pizza’s. Why? Why not? And it’s a Thursday in 2023.

Pizza & A Project

In the beginning, there was “Dinner And A Movie”. And it was Good.

When we look back at COVID, we’ll recognize two things:

• “Projects” were the Activity. Some you chose to do, and others were foisted upon you by your spouse, but we all did projects.
• “Pizza” was the Food. It’s always been comfort food and who needed comfort more than during COVID. Plus it can be slid under doors.

One of the Sales Managers hit me up on Friday and asked if I had anything that I could add to a list of concepts he is pitching to a pizza client.

What if the morning show hosted a weekly Facebook live with clients who would do a tutorial on how to accomplish a project? Putting up wall paper. Creating a podcast. Shingling the roof. Maximizing space.

Weather stripping. Home brewing. Putting together your old stereo (my Christmas break project). And it would be sponsored by a pizza, and they would dine on the product while doing the class.
