Spot-Eating Dogs
One of the stations is about to launch a commercial free music feature, which no one has done before. And so that it doesn’t get lost in all of the other commercial-free music features, the talent who will be the host is going to adopt a dog that rhymes with the brand and every day the dog will eat the commercials.
Last Pin Standing
I lobbed out last week how Island 106 used a Super Bowl betting board to match up listeners for a Valentines night out.
One of the stations had a Jason Mraz show so they did Mix & Match For Mraz. Five guys. Five women. Headshots and a little bio on the station site. Listeners then matched up and created couples for a night out in a huge stretch, din din and great seats for Mraz.
A station-to-remain-nameless has a Valentines event at some kind of entertainment complex that with bars and food…and a bowling alley.
The idea is going to be to find ten single women who are up for a night with a (potential serial killer) guy and assign them each a pin number. Guys will, one at a time, roll a ball or two if needed. The goal is to leave one pin standing and if they succeed, bing, they go out with that pins young woman. Bowl until ll pins have been done. And Alli from WiLD in Tampa assures me that hip young women really dig guys who can bowl well.
Catch A Cupid
It is inevitable that you will have some kind of Valentines stuff from clients to give away. What if you got a dial position number of bouquets of pink balloons, put numbered little wedding cake cupids under each one, and on Friday the 12th during morning drive, release them all. Find and retrieve a cupid, bring it in, get some stuff.
