Taylor
This is the scene in Las Vegas at 4pm on Friday. Because of the size of the audience and the security measures that they’re implementing on this tour, if she’s coming to your market, be assured that there will be lines. What could you do with lines?
- Well, if the lines start across the street, they can’t stop you from blasting music at them and hoping to ping some meters.
- Even if the line IS on their property, they can’t stop your talent from walking the line, greeting everyone, taking photos, collecting data, and sharing.
- And they can’t stop you from having a Taylor look-a-like standing there with a sign that has a song that will play on Monday. That song is the cue to call and win tickets to the NEXT show you have coming, and the only way to know that that’s the cue is to have walked by your sign at the concert.
Endorsement Rally
One of the many many many things that AI can’t do is to give a personal endorsement to a product or service. These client relationships are our bread and butter.
I was at a station in 2019 where they did an “endorsement rally.” It was basically a staff meeting so the Sales people could meet with the airstaff one-on-one and get to know what their hobbies and passions are.
The AE’s then sat down and tried to match talent to clients, ie: “Dan sure loves to fish. He’d be perfect for Red Wigglers: The Cadillac Of Worms.”
The next step was to take the talent and introduce them to the prospective client.
They found that they got the sale 41% of the time when the talent went to the meeting as opposed to 9% when they didn’t.
Win A Baby
Hot 89.9 in Ottawa was the first station to award Invitro treatments under the moniker, “Win A Baby.” I remember bringing it up to CBS almost immediately as “this amazing warm and fuzzy promotion for couples who were unable to conceive.” The reaction was similar to if I’d suggested putting bunnies in a blender.
But clearHeart took the baby and ran with it and it’s been done at Hot in DC, ‘ZHT in Salt Lake City, and it’s back again with Mojo in Detroit. Mojo in the Morning on Instagram: “Congratulations to our first Mojo Gives You A Baby winner! Two more winners will receive services to @ivfmichigan this week Be listening…”
Frig Art
One of the stations thinks they have a grocery store that will pop for $500 for a grad party. Cool. Great prize. But how to pick their winner? They’re going to go with frig art from when they grad was a kid. Best wins.
