File This For 2024
Live 96.7 in Hagerstown went out and egged a house. That get your attention? Good. That was the idea.
MOMosa’s
A great name, from a Beasley station that is getting ready to launch an event for Mothers Day weekend: they’re going to have people making charcuterie boards while sipping mimosa’s.
A CPR PSE (Public Service Event)
With the near death of Damar Hamlin and attention getting focused on these events at sporting events, Jeff Berry with Cumulus in Albuquerque put together a training event this past weekend. You could do these in August, sponsored by a local health care provider. From Mandi Vaquera ----
After seeing someone almost die on national TV was an eye opener for everyone. We thought how many people actually know how to do CPR if put in that situation.
Jeff decided to call up the University of New Mexico Football team and we got them all involved to help teach CPR. We had 3 session that were free to the public.
8a was UNM athletes
9a, 10a and 11a was for the public to come and train in CPR (this was not a certification but only a 45 min class.
We had over 500 people attend this event. We thought it was great for year one.
We had all our stations out for this event along with all on air staff to greet people and thank them for coming.
The “Somehow I Missed It Film Fest” In Theater C
When Cities 97 started doing acoustic shows at the station circa 2000, they did them in the conference room which they dressed up by calling it “studio c”.
So what if once a month, after work, you did a free screening of a movie that one of the morning show has never seen, and invite all of the other listeners who have somehow missed it. I tested “What movie did everyone else see but you didn’t?” on Facespace over the weekend and it killed. And a LOT of people never saw “Titanic”.
Movies are the entertainment universal and honestly, it’s just an excuse to hang out and eat pop corn with a dozen listeners.
