Wake Up With A Star
I had an idea the other morning when my wakeup call came in at 6 am: what if you had artists do wakeup calls?
It would be simple really. Get the labels to get you some generic wakeup call messages from artists. "Hey! Wake up! This is Drake and you're late for work. I told you not to stay out so late. Chew an aspirin, start the coffee, flip on Buck Wilde at Jamz and get your butt in the shower. Now. Hurry. Don't make me call back."
So, I go to your website, pick an artist and a time and my cellphone rings the next morning and wakes me up.
Things That Jingle
You would be hard-pressed to find a Clear Channel website that doesn't have an ad for ringtones. And there's some validity to it. Personalized ringtones are cool. I fly, well, a lot. As soon as you touch down, it's now all right to turn on your cellphone. So before the plane even comes to a stop, all over the cabin you hear ringtones chiming on.
There aren't that many stations out there that have their own, clearly recognizable jingles anymore. In the 80's WLOL in Minneapolis had a package that even to this day, most people over the age of 35 can immediately re-call and either sing or hum.
IF you're one of these stations with a great jingle series, it'd be foolish to not offer them as ringtones.
Prom With A Twist
The whole 'win a date to prom with a DJ' bit has been so over-done, and usually poorly. I've got a hook. But since you're not a client, too bad. However, what if you spun this and had your morning guy or girl take a teacher to prom. Fact: every school has a cool teacher. Have the students nominate a teacher who is single and maybe had never gone to prom. Do a limo. Bring some of the students along. Again: this stuff is only an excuse to be out at these big events.
