Poker Hand

Back when the single was "Poker Face", KZIA in Cedar Rapids did a flyaway to see her in Las Vegas. Great, appt. listening contest that last a week. Which is what a prize like this should get. Here are the rules: AWARDING OF PRIZE(S): Prize will be awarded to the one contestant who is the first to correctly identify the five (5) cards, during an official play of the contest. A five (5) card hand will be dealt from a standard playing card deck of fifty-two (52) cards; Ace being the high card. Each of the five (5) cards will be assigned a number one (1) through five (5). Players will begin by attempting to identify card one (1) and so on through card five (5). Contest will be conducted in the following manner: a.) A KZIA-FM, Z102.9 staff member will announce over the air that the contest is occurring. b.) A specified-number caller will be taken. c.) The caller will be asked to identify the cards (if any) that have been previously identified, and then offer a guess as to the current card. If the guess is incorrect, it will be revealed if either the guessed card is higher or lower than the actual card, and that that occurrence of the contest is over. If the guess is correct, the caller will have the opportunity to guess the next card. Each contest occurrence will continue until the caller has either guessed incorrectly, or has correctly identified all five cards.

Gerbil Idol

A station-to-remain-nameless has tickets and limo to one of the non-cancelled American Idol's concerts.

A mall is paying for the package so the contest will be done as part of a two hour remote there.

Said station suggested the Human Scratch Off Ticket. Mall passed.

Then...how about falling back on Comedy Gold: which is the word "gerbil". "Gerbil" is funny. Say it. See? You smiled.

Gerbil Idol would have you laying down the publicity photos of 19 American Idol contestants and one of Richard Gere, in a penned enclosure. Each photo will have just a tiny smeer of peanut butter dabbed on it.

For 90 minutes people come and guess which AI celeb (or Gere) the gerbil will gnaw the face off of.

Gerbil is placed in pen. Gerbil randomly goes to a photo and starts eating the face. One of the people who chose that "person" is picked as the ticket/limo winner.

Or you could have people drop their names in a box and pull a winner at the end of the remote.
