Florists
One of the stations got a promotional request from a florist. In the past the client has been on all of the expected Hallmark Holidays but now wants a promotion to stand-alone in August. With that said, here are a few suggestions if you have a similar or potential client like this:
Flower Or Intestinal Disorder. Dysuria? Intestinal disorder. Arbutus? Flower.
Floral Report. You're having a pop quiz. In less then 100 words, write a report on (topic) but can't use the words (give five words related to the topic) Pick one a day to win roses for their spouse
Pluck And Win. For remotes. Decorate an intern or promo person in colored post-it notes to look like a flower. Come to the event, pluck a petal and win what's written underneath
"Who Let The Dogs Out". Get out of the doghouse. During Afternoon Drive email in why you DESPERATELY need to bring some flowers home to the Mrs., ie: what did you do since breakfast that will make this a really cold and silent dinner without a gesture of armistice.
Daddy Gaga
From 106.1 Kiss-FM in Dallas where they're also doing free parking at the show for the first 106 cars that are decorated with station logos. Gaga is like any phenom, no matter what format. Your litmus test? Think "Tijuana dog and pony show". Anything less and you're missing the boat. And Kiss has a full full boat.

Back To Back To Bieber
Did this with a few stations for Backstreet Boys. Fly in Albany was the first to do it with Bieber. Listen for three songs to play in order, call and win. KLUC in Las Vegas just did the Bieber Triple Play and had one of those "months" that are only dreamed of. Kiss 95.1 in Charlotte is creating phone system havoc in their market with the same methodology http://kiss951.radio.com/2010/07/16/brunch-with-bieber
Plinko!!!
So, what do you do when every other station in town has a prize wheel? Well, Zoe, the Promotion Director at Wired 96.3 in Saskatoon built a Plinko board with her dad. And it rocks. Yes: it is Rocket Science.
