For Your Next Bieber Opp
From Wired 96.3 in Saskatoon:
We've been doing "JK for JB" for the last week - parents call and prank thier kids - then tell them they're Just Kidding....and they're going to see Justin Bieber.
Some that we've done include "You're getting a new baby brother or sister", "You're adopted", "We're Moving" (mom told the 8 year old she couldnt bring her pets, the teachers there were mean, and there was no dance class), and "Mommy and Daddy are getting back together" (that one brought in a few complaints). Calls have been hilarious
Prom-otions
"Second Chance Prom" when it was initially done, was cool. It had a vibe. And then it got dumbed down into just a club gig.
KLUC in Las Vegas was the radio sponsor for an event called The Vegas Prom. Thinking from the standpoint of a cold, lonely and revenue-challenged 1st Q, this might be pretty cool to replicate in your market. Info at www.vegasprom.com
The Ten Secret Santas
In the beginning, there was The Secret Sound. And it was Good.
It was like Beat The Bomb; it played to the 93% of people who are passively listening for their favorite song to play.
The Ten Secret Superstars is a great contest. Fly in Albany had a killer Spring off their version using international celebrities.
One of the Newcap stations has a 50 inch TV for contesting in December. A great prize and one that really should go to a person who loves to watch TV.
So, for this or really any other opportunity post-Thanksgiving, what if you got ten "ho's" from ten holiday films. Edit them into a quick clip. ID the films in order to win.
Could also be done as a web promotion and Match The Ho And Go To The Show (your Christmas concert or TSO). Match each clip to a Santa photo. Tim Allen. Billy Bob Thornton. Dan Akroyd. And the proverbial etc.
Could also be done with Ten Secret Spirits with words contributed by demons, devils and ghosts from horror films.
