Tomorrow
This is going to be a good one. Can't wait to see what Google does. You can make AFD a big theatrical production, as one US CHR morning show is using me as a owner of a chain of restaurants that serves cat, complete with a website. (and the owner who is portrayed on the website will have a striking resemblance to Joel Denver) It can also just be simple and easy.
"Random" is a good litmus test. Just something random and unexpected and out of left field. No one has ever done a morning show in reverse. First break would be the sign off at 9 or 10. There are a couple of stations that are putting stuff together on the fly today. It could, again, be as simple as now, right now, calling the University, getting four students and doing each shift tomorrow in a different language. Jamz in Birmingham, which does better AFD then pretty much anyone, was the first station to do this. Mornings in Japanese, mid-days in Sri Lankan, afternoon in Thai and Nights in Russian. No pre-hype. Just...done.
And the key, as always, is never ever air callers asking what is up. This is normal. This is business as usual.
The Charlie Sheen Tour
To stick these tickets in the VIP Club or waste them with "click and register to win" truly qualifies you for a career in fast food middle management.
As witnessed by what CBS in Pittsburgh did with St. Charlies Day, lookalikes are fun. Do a search, vote and send the guy and a guy pal to the show with two smoking hot strippers.
The intern search he did was reminiscent of the Regis/Kelly thing. Every woman on the planet seemingly trying to win it. I'd have tickets but only for YOUR interns. Be a Charlie Sheen (Concert) Intern. Sign up/apply at the website and go.
It's entirely possible that he'll die before he can perform. The winners tickets will be put into a trust that will be administered by a stodgy lawyer. If he's still alive the day of the show, your tickets will be bequeathed to you. (It's all about the imaging)
