Should Have Gone Out Yesterday
Dave Ryan at KDWB once did "I'll Drink To That" which involved the co-host going out to clubs with a minidisc and a breathalyzer. He'd get drunk patrons to say stupid drunk stuff, record them and then get their blood alcohol level. The contest? He played back the audio the next morning and you had to guess what they blew, to win.
Greg and Mo Runyon at KZIA shared www.milkscreen-moms.com A device that detects alcohol in breast milk.
The Best Email Of The Year (And It's A Young Year)
From a VP regarding The (Dial Position) Days Of Summer: Why do I have a station that is planning on doing this? Do you know about it?
Wendys/Gossip Grill
Or, "Break Room Confidential". People love gossip. People live for gossip. One of the stations has a request from Wendys to giveaway some (ugh) giftcards during the mid-days.
Obviously, designated caller contesting to win hamburgers redefines "small market".
What if you have the midday jock take a few callers each lunch hour, digitize the sound so they're anonymous, and have them (without saying the name of a specific company or co-workers name)(men will always be referred to as 'John' and women as 'Jane) dish up the dirt from their workplace
You air a few every lunch hour and at 1 pm, the jock says who she thinks had the best dirt and gives them the GC. Never say "a $50 Wendy's gift card". Say "you'll be eating free off Wendy's for awhile."
