"Snapped"
Not that any of you care about web traffic and visits, but one way to accomplish that is to take lots and lots of photos at community events, give the people cards that tell them to visit your website the next day to look for them, and then post. Kiss in Charlotte calls it Party Cam. Hot in Ottawa and Hot in Norfolk refer to their photog as Party Girl and she's become an integral part of the station in both cases. In Norfolk, they built a Las Vegas/Gaga trip around here.
At BRMB in Birmingham, it's simply referred to as "Snapped". As in "Did you get snapped at Taylor Swift... http://www.brmb.co.uk/photos/72157626206639341/ ?"
And proving again that skin create hits, here is the gallery for Mix/San Antonio's Spring Break Week with Russell Rush. Obviously, as a Mennonite, I'm offended.

Still Hope For Terrestrial Radio
So...Pittsburgh got hit with a tornado a few weeks ago. No deaths but a couple of the communities in the market got seriously messed up. Highschool severely damaged. Power out. Trees down every where. Lots of destroyed homes.
Back when Radio at least pretended to care about it's listeners and that whole "license to serve our community" BS, we would have been all over this kind of thing. Sadly it's no longer a given.
CBS in Pittsburgh, however, was all over it. Here's what they put together on the fly overnight and implemented the next morning

Y108 Penny Pick Up
Today, the Y108 team will take to the streets in a Bowser GMC Trucks Y108 Penny Pickup, collecting your spare change to donate to relief efforts for those affected by Wednesday's storm and tornado in Westmoreland County.
At the end of the day, we'll drive all of the pennies we receive to the Westmoreland-Chestnut Ridge Chapter of The American Red Cross.
Have a donation? We'll come to you. Call or email us for a Y108 Penny Pick up at your home, school, or workplace. Special thanks to Bowser GMC Trucks for loaning us the truck.
Star 100.7 Penny Challenge (so far $5,700 collected!)
JR, Bubba, Shelly are taking donations to support relief for victims of the Westmoreland County storms. First, they'll look for someone to donate a penny. Then, they'll look for someone to donate two pennies. They'll continue to look for someone to donate double the previous donation until they max out and stop. The total of all of the money collectively pledged will go to the Westmoreland-Chestnut Ridge Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Star 100.7 Pay-For-Play Replay Lunch
Beginning at Noon, Melanie Taylor will host a special Pay-For-Play edition of the Star 100.7 Replay Lunch. Starting at 11am, you can pledge $25 in exchange for Star airing a song of your choice. She'll announce a song and pledge that's coming up. If you don't want her to play the song, you can block the request by pledging $50 within 10 minutes of the announcement.
A pledge of $100 within the next ten minutes will override the block and allow the originally requested/"purchased" song to play. Donations for Replay Lunch will go to Salvation Army of Westmoreland County Corps.
